Dr. Stela Dimitrova, MD, PhD

Stela Kostova Dimitrova, MD, PhD, was born in 1989 in Ruse, Bulgaria. She completed her secondary education at the English Language School “Geo Milev” in Ruse. In 2014, she graduated with honors in Medicine from the Medical University of Varna. In 2017, she was awarded a scholarship by the Bulgarian Medical Association in the category “Scholarships for Young Physicians.” Since the same year, she has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine II – Hematology Unit at the Medical University of Varna. In 2019, she obtained a specialty in Clinical Hematology and successfully passed the European Hematology Exam, earning the European Hematology Diploma. In 2020, she defended her PhD in the scientific field of “Hematology and Transfusion Medicine.” She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association, the Bulgarian Society of Hematology, the European Hematology Association, and the Working Group on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Myelodysplastic Syndromes within the Bulgarian Society of Hematology. Dr. Dimitrova has completed trainings and exchanges at the First Moscow State Medical University “Sechenov” and the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her main professional and scientific interests are in the field of myeloid neoplasms and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. She has numerous publications in Bulgarian and international journals and has participated in various national and international scientific congresses and conferences.
